Wrestling Team Going Strong
The Dana College wrestling team opened up their dual season with a 25-18 win over NCAA Division III power Buena Vista University.
IRA Charitable Rollover is Renewed!
The IRA Rollover enjoyed by many charitable donors in 2006 and 2007 has been extended for 2008 and 2009.
This means that you can give directly from your IRA to Dana College without having to first recognize the distribution as income on your tax return.
Vikings Reach Conference Finals, Qualify for Nationals
The Dana College men’s soccer team has reached the GPAC Conference title for the first time in the programs eight year history. The Vikings defeated the University of Sioux Falls 1-0 Wednesday afternoon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Dana & Midland Theaters Partner to Host One-Man Show
The Dana College and Midland Lutheran College Theater Departments have joined forces to present "It Is No Desert" a one-man senior theater project featuring Dana student Thomas Gjere. This is the first time that both campuses will host a theater event, which will help widen the audience base for the two Lutheran schools.
The show, written by Dan Stroeh, will be offered free of charge and is open to the public.
Women's Basketball Team Defeats William Penn

Amanda Bryant (SR, Treynor, Iowa) led three Dana College players in double-figures with 14 points. Bryant also pulled down a game high 13 rebounds. Kalen Carlson (JR, Omaha, Neb.) had 12 points and four rebounds. Teammate Chelsey Zimmerman (SR, Tabor, Iowa) added 11 points. Megan Parker (SR, Sloan, Iowa) had seven rebounds, four points, and two blocked shots in the win. Christa Subbert had a game high 17 points for William Pen, but it was not enough. The Lady Statesmen shot 28-percent from the field in a 65-52 loss to Dana College.
Dana is now 4-1 on the season and William Penn drops to 1-2 overall. Dana takes on Grand View College on Friday in Fremont. Game stats are attached.
MUSIC AND MORE ! performs at St. Paul's Harvest Festival
MUSIC AND MORE ! joined Dr. Philipp at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neola, IA on Sunday, November 9. Pastor Sara Jensen and her husband, Erik are Dana alumni. Dr. Philipp delivered the sermon; MUSIC AND MORE ! provided instrumental and vocal music for St. Paul's annual Harvest Festival worship.
Men's Soccer Dominates First Round of GPAC Conference
The Dana College men’s soccer team survived Mother Nature and Morningside College on Thursday in the opening round of the GPAC Tournament. Dana defeated Morningside 2-0 to advance to the second round of the tournament.
Women's Soccer Team Wins GPAC Opener
The women’s soccer team earned a spot of revenge on Tuesday afternoon in Fremont, Nebraska as they defeated Midland Lutheran 3-1. Less than seven days earlier, the Warriors had shut-out the Vikings 1-0.

Dana Hosts Danish Ambassador
Danish Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen visited the Dana College campus for the first time on Sunday, October 19, 2008. Ambassador Petersen has had a distinguished and outstanding career in the Danish Foreign Service, serving on the staff of two Danish Foreign Ministers and holding various senior positions as Permanent Secretary of State and Undersecretary. Mr. Petersen was appointed the Danish Ambassador in 2005.
