The Dana College Social Work Practice III Class, along with the National Association of Social Workers, proudly celebrates National Social Work Month Tuesday, March 25 through Friday, March 28.

Social Work Month provides an opportunity for social workers to highlight the essential role they play in alleviating some of America's most difficult problems. Through education, training and dedication, social workers provide assistance and offers professional practice opportunities in many different areas including health, aging, mental health, child welfare, cancer, end of life, adolescent health, HIV/AIDS and family violence.

Schedule of events will be as follows:

Tuesday March 25
7pm - Sexual Assault/Campus Rape, Media Room, Gardner-Hawks Center
7:30pm - Self Defense Class, Wrestling Room, Borup Coliseum

Wednesday March 26
7:30pm - Introduction to Social Work, Dragon’s Head, Campus Center
8pm - Movie "Reign Over Me," Dragon's Head, Campus Center

Thursday March 27
7pm Cultural Diversity Nigh,t Linden Room, Campus Center
(A variety of ethnic food and music)

Friday March 28
11-1pm "The Depth and Breadth of Social Work," The Forum, Durham Center
