April 3, 2007

Dr. Raymond Russin has been named vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college at Dana College. He began work at Dana in March.

Russin most recently was special associate to the president for institutional effectiveness at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kan. He also served for five years as vice president for academic affairs and academic dean at Kansas Wesleyan. For 18 years prior, Russin was professor of psychology at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan., a sister institution of Dana.

“ We are pleased to have Dr. Russin join the Dana College community,” said Dr. Janet Philipp, president of Dana College. “His teaching and administrative experiences at colleges similar to Dana will be helpful as he guides the academic life of the College.”

Russin earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. His doctorate in general experimental psychology is from Colorado State University.

“ I am delighted to be at Dana,” Russin said. “The beauty of the campus and the friendliness of its people have confirmed my earlier impressions of the quality of Dana College.”
