New
online registration makes signing up even easier
This summer, Dana
College is offering area high school students the opportunity to
get the jump on college by earning credit for basic
requirement classes. As an accredited, four-year liberal arts institution,
credit from Dana easily transfers to all types of colleges and universities
and helps high school students save money by earning a degree in
less time.
“
Dana is a great place to take summer classes,” said Professor
Sybille Bartels, associate dean for student success. “We’re
just 20 minutes from Omaha and Fremont, parking is never an issue
on our small campus, and our small class sizes and dedicated faculty
mean
that high school students never feel intimidated.”
This year,
Dana has made it even easier for high school students to enroll
in summer courses by going through the entire process
online. By visiting www.dana.edu/nondegree, students can read course
descriptions
and sign up for classes by filling out a short form. Students can
pay
for the class at Dana’s Business Office on or before their
first class session.
Dana is offering a wide variety of four-week
classes that would be good choices for high school students, including
Principles
of Accounting
I, Physical Chemistry, Interpersonal Communication, Principles
of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics and Intermediate
Algebra.
Students can
also earn an entire year of German language credit in just eight
weeks by taking German I and II.
Summer classes are just $190 per
credit hour. Most courses are offered for three credits.
“
Dana summer classes are a great way for high school students to
see what college classes will be like, without worrying about
finding their
way around a huge campus or being lost in class with 100 students,” Bartels
said. “Dana’s classes are personal, supportive places,
where the instructors not only know their students’ names,
but know their learning styles and their grasp of the material
covered.
Dana faculty won’t let you fail if you don’t want
to.”
Dana College is a place where all students actively
participate. They make things happen — in their own lives
and in the lives of others. Through a highly supportive faculty
and campus community, Dana students
develop interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, and other
important values and knowledge as they make choices about their
future. Dana’s
outstanding academic programs in business, education and social
work, among others, ensure that students have the knowledge,
skills and
experience necessary to pursue challenging careers or placement
in graduate school.
