The Dana College Chorale will perform at St. Cecilia Cathedral in
Omaha at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23. The concert is free and open to
the public.
The performance is part of the Cathedral Arts Project Ars Choralis
Series, which highlights the musical talent of area choirs. This
is the 10th year the Dana College Chorale has participated in the
series.
Among the selections the group will perform are “Gloria” by
Randol Alan Bass, an African folk song, a black spiritual and three
pieces composed by Dana College Chorale Director Dr. Richard Palmer,
including “Jubilate Deo,” “The Best of Rooms” and
the chorale’s theme song, “Beautiful Savior.”
The concert also will feature a performance by Dr. Peggy Holloway,
assistant professor of music at Dana. She will sing several pieces
by female composers and also will perform “Exsultate, Jubilate” by
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in commemoration of the composer’s
250th birthday.
