Dana College Honors 98 Graduates at Commencement Ceremony

Dana College in Blair, Neb., awarded bachelor’s degrees to 98 students during its commencement ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20, in the Gardner-Hawks Center.

Three valedictorians were honored during the ceremony: John Hall of Ogallala and Julia Peterson and John Synowicki, both of Omaha.

Three Morton Scholars also were recognized: Brandie Carlson of O’Neill, Hannah Heckart of Danville, Iowa, and Jesse Valdez of Las Vegas, N.M. To receive this title, students must meet rigorous academic and service requirements.

Also during the ceremony, Dana College President Dr. Janet Philipp presented the 2006 College-Community Service Award to the Blair Area Chamber of Commerce.
