A FREE NIGHT OF MUSIC AT DANA COLLEGE,
MAY 30
The Danish Immigrant Museum
and Dana
present Scandinavian Art Songs concert
The Danish Immigrant Museum of Elk Horn, Iowa, and
Dana College are proud to present a free concert at 7:30 p.m.,
Monday,
May 30, featuring Philip Everingham
and Kristi Bergland performing Scandinavian Art Songs. The concert is open to
the public and will be in Dana’s Trinity Chapel in the Margre Henningson
Durham Center.
The two performers bring a wealth of experience in
Scandinavian music to campus. Soprano Kristi Bergland spent a year
studying Norwegian music
at the University
of Trondheim as a Fullbright Scholar. Pianist Philip Everignham has performed
as a part of Songfest 2004 at Pepperdine University, Opera in the Ozarks 2003,
the University of Minnesota, the 2000 Cleveland Art Song Festival and the Franz
Schubert Institut in Baden-bei-Wien, Austria.
The concert is a part of festivities
surrounding the meetings of the Federation of Danish Associations in Canada,
meeting at Dana from May 26 through June 1.
The concert is made possible through a generous grant from Dennis Andersen
of Atlanta, Ga. There will be a reception following the concert.
