DANA TO HOLD OPENING CONVOCATION,
AUG. 30
New President Janet Philipp
will speak to students, employees and guests
Dana College will hold its annual Opening Convocation
at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, in the Lauritzen Theatre of the Madsen
Fine Arts Center. The event is free,
and the public is invited to attend.
President Janet Philipp will open the year
and her tenure as president during the traditional event. Convocation
is a time-honored way of celebrating the beginning
of the academic year and looking forward to Dana’s future.
This year brings
many aspects for the Dana community to celebrate, including
Philipp and the college’s largest enrollment since 1971.
The college will
also recognized students honored for their achievements during the last academic
year and install the 2005-06 Student Senate.
