DANA TO HOLD OPENING CONVOCATION, AUG. 30

New President Janet Philipp will speak to students, employees and guests

Dana College will hold its annual Opening Convocation at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, in the Lauritzen Theatre of the Madsen Fine Arts Center. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.

President Janet Philipp will open the year and her tenure as president during the traditional event. Convocation is a time-honored way of celebrating the beginning of the academic year and looking forward to Dana’s future.

This year brings many aspects for the Dana community to celebrate, including Philipp and the college’s largest enrollment since 1971.

The college will also recognized students honored for their achievements during the last academic year and install the 2005-06 Student Senate.
