jOHN SCHRAUT PROMOTED TO ASSISTANT
DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS
Counselor will continue
to cover northern and western Nebraska
John
Schraut has been promoted to the position of assistant
director of admissions at Dana College, a private, four-year liberal
arts college in Blair, Neb.
Schraut joined the Dana College staff as an admissions
counselor in December 2001. He was, and will continue to be, responsible
for recruiting prospective students in northern and western Nebraska.
His job duties include promoting Dana College at high schools and
college fairs and working with students and parents as they go through
the college-selection process. Schraut also heads the admissions
student telecounseling staff.
Schraut earned a bachelors of science in nursing from
Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, in May 2000. While he
was a student there, he was employed in the admissions office for
four years, giving campus tours and phoning prospective students
as well as other office duties.
Schraut is the son of Lorraine Schraut of Oakville,
Mo., and the late Richard Schraut.
Dana College is a private, liberal arts institution
that currently enrolls approximately 600 students. The campus is
located on 150 acres overlooking the Missouri River Valley in Blair,
Neb. Dana grants bachelor’s degrees in more than 35 liberal
arts, business, education and pre-professional programs, with an
emphasis on personalized teaching from experienced and dedicated
faculty. Dana is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America, and its athletic teams compete in the Great Plains Athletic
Conference.
