Annual
Kids on the Hill Day will explore the disappearance of Amelia Earhart
Dana
College’s annual day for local children will take a mysterious
turn this year as participants will explore the disappearance of
famed avaitrix Amelia
Earhart. The day, Sept. 17, is chock full of great activities and fun for third
through sixth graders.
Former gifted student instructor and current Dana Special
Event and Conference Services Coordinator Lori Strohm is organizing
what should be one of the best
Kids on the Hill days in recent memory. Planned activities include a radio
control airplane session with Omaha’s Western Flyers, a treasure hunt
for clues to Earhart’s disappearance across campus with Education Department
students, fun exploration of interactive web sites devoted to Earhart and a
quest to
trace her doomed attempt to fly across the globe.
Participants also receive
a sack lunch and free admission to the Dana Football game against Dakota
Wesleyan at 1 p.m.
Any student in third through sixth grade is invited
to attend with their parents. The day runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
with registration starting
at 9:45 a.m.
in front of Pioneer Memorial on Dana’s campus. Admission is just
$5.
For more information on the day, please contact Lori Strohm at 402
