Accommodations
will be made for up to five students to enter as soon as possible
Dana
College is offering free tuition for the fall semester for up to
five students whose educations have been disrupted by Hurricane
Katrina in the Gulf Coast.
Eligible students are those who were enrolled at one of the dozens of colleges
and universities in the Gulf Coast that have been devastated by Katrina and
may not reopen for the fall semester.
“We join the nation in extending our hand to those affected
by Hurricane Katrina,” said Dana President Janet S. Philipp. “We
hope that this small gesture can help in the process of recovery
for a few.”
Although classes began at Dana College on Monday,
administrators and faculty will work with these students to make
their transition to Dana as easy as
possible. The college will not charge tuition for these students, but applicable
fees
for room and board will be assessed.
Students who wish to take advantage
of this offer must meet the requirements of admission to Dana College.
Preference will be given to students who
reside in Nebraska or Iowa. For more information on this offer, please
contact Jim
Lynes, dean of enrollment management, at 402 426-7220.
