Stoner returns to her home area after serving at Buena Vista

Dana College announces that it has hired Melinda Stoner to fill the position of registrar.

Stoner’s responsibilities will include transcript evaluation, degree audits, graduation checks and the coordination of the academic calendar, college catalog and course offerings booklet.
Prior to coming to Dana, Stoner was an admissions advisor at Western Iowa Tech and Buena Vista University in Sioux City, Iowa. She also served the Buena Vista campus in Storm Lake, Iowa, as an academic specialist.

Stoner earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1992 from the University of Iowa. Originally from Missouri Valley, Iowa, Stoner says it is good to be back in this area, where many of her friends and family live.

She and her husband, Matt, have two sons, Colton, 5, and Dalton, 3. Matt is the business manager at Red-D-Cash in Omaha.

Dana College is a private, liberal arts institution that currently enrolls approximately 600 students. The campus is located on 150 acres overlooking the Missouri River Valley in Blair, Neb. Dana grants bachelor’s degrees in more than 35 liberal arts, business, education and pre-professional programs, with an emphasis on personalized teaching from experienced and dedicated faculty.
