DANA HIRES MELINDA STONER AS REGISTRAR
Stoner returns to her home
area after serving at Buena Vista
Dana College announces that it has hired Melinda Stoner
to fill the position of registrar.
Stoner’s responsibilities will include transcript
evaluation, degree audits, graduation checks and the coordination
of the academic calendar, college catalog and course offerings booklet.
Prior to coming to Dana, Stoner was an admissions advisor at Western
Iowa Tech and Buena Vista University in Sioux City, Iowa. She also
served the Buena Vista campus in Storm Lake, Iowa, as an academic
specialist.
Stoner earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary
education in 1992 from the University of Iowa. Originally from Missouri
Valley, Iowa, Stoner says it is good to be back in this area, where
many of her friends and family live.
Stoner is a member of the American Association of
Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and the Nebraska
Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (NACRAO).
She and her husband, Matt, have two sons, Colton,
5, and Dalton, 3. Matt is the business manager at Red-D-Cash in
Omaha.
Dana College is a private, liberal arts institution
that currently enrolls approximately 600 students. The campus is
located on 150 acres overlooking the Missouri River Valley in Blair,
Neb. Dana grants bachelor’s degrees in more than 35 liberal
arts, business, education and pre-professional programs, with an
emphasis on personalized teaching from experienced and dedicated
faculty. Dana is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America, and its athletic teams compete in the Great Plains Athletic
Conference.
