Burr Ridge, Ill., bakery selected for best Danish
pastry at Dana College, Oct. 1
Kirsten’s Danish Bakery
walked away with the first-place prize in Dana College’s “Kringle
Tasting Kontest,” held as part of the Nebraska
college’s Homecoming celebration, Oct. 1.

A three-judge panel determined Kirsten’s
kringle to be the best based on a variety of characteristics,
including appearance, taste and overall quality. Kirsten’s
beat out a variety of competitors from around the country,
who contributed the signature Danish pastry for review.
The judges reported the decision was very difficult, and that
all of the entries were outstanding examples of Danish kringle.
