DANA WELCOMES NEW FACULTY MEMBERS
Seven new educators join dedicated teaching
staff. Here are some quick facts:
Dr. Iain Anderson is a new assistant professor of history. Anderson
earned his bachelor’s in history from Loughborough University
in England, his master’s from the University of Evansville
in Indiana and his doctorate from Indiana University. Before coming
to Dana, he served as a visiting assistant professor in the history
department at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Patricia Duncan is a new adjunct instructor of English. Duncan
earned her bachelor’s in mathematics and English at Buena
Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, and her master’s in
English and special education from the University of South Dakota.
She has been an owner/consultant of Achievement Plus in Elkhorn
and a faculty member at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.
Trine Feuerborn will be rejoining the Dana faculty as an instructor
of Danish. Prof. Feuerborn earned her Danish equivalent to a bachelor’s
degree in education from Ribe State College of Education in Ribe,
Denmark. She spent last year in Denmark, but taught at Dana for
the previous two years.
Toni Godley is a new instructor of communication. Godley earned
her bachelor’s and master’s in communication from the
University of Nebraska-Omaha. In the past she has served as a training
development specialist at West Corporation and as an adjunct instructor
at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Dr. Scott Hermanson is a new assistant professor of English. Hermanson
earned his bachelor’s in communication studies from Northwestern
University in Chicago, and his master’s and doctorate in English
from the University of Cincinnati. Previously, he was a lecturer
in the English department at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Dr. Karen Murch-Shafer is a new assistant professor of biology.
Murch-Shafer earned her bachelor’s and master’s in biology
from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her doctorate from the
University of Wyoming. Before coming to Dana, she served as assistant
professor of biology at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Jo Peterson is a new assistant professor of social work. Peterson
earned her bachelor’s and master’s from the University
of Nebraska-Omaha. She has previously worked as a youth services
director at Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare in Omaha.
