HOMECOMING 2002
Grand Tour
The Grand Tour, this year’s special Homecoming event, was
a smashing success, with about 90 people taking a whirlwind tour
of Europe without leaving Blair. Travelers visited four distinctly
themed houses and sampled four distinct refreshment offerings.
The Grand Tour will not be offered next year, but a new event is
in the works. (Hint: Cross Germany and October.)

Andy ’61 and Susan (Jorgensen ’59) Andersen
welcome travelers to Italy (Prof. Jim ’61 and Sue Olsen’s).
Visitors here feasted on fresh bruschetta and spumoni.

In Merry Old England (Nathan Krämer ’89
and Amy Barlow’s home) prime ministers looked down on the
festivities as travelers munched on fish ‘n’ chips,
or had a spot of tea with crumpets (or both). Although a map of
the Tube was available, no punk rockers or Trainspotters were in
attendance.

In Germany (Prof. Emeritus Delvin and Trudy Hutton’s,
above) guests could partake of German beer or delicious cider. Lederhosen-clad
figures were also on the scene, but we’ll never tell who.

A dapper young man named Thomas (son of Ted ’89
and Margie (Miller ‘89) Bansen) guarded the gate to Denmark
(Bob ’56 and Joan ’56 Krogh’s). If one obtained
entry, Danish coffee, kringle and smørrebrød were
plentiful.
