ALUMNI COUNCIL REPORT
The single most important area for Alumni Council involvement at
Dana is Homecoming. This year several members of the council went
above and beyond the call of duty to give important assistance for
Homecoming.
For many events at Homecoming, council members were vital support
workers. We couldn’t have done it without them. Council members
who worked on these tasks were Ingvert Appel ’58, Alvina (Larsen
’48) Hjortsvang, Keith Jensen ’56, Kathy (Niemeyer ’68)
Kuster, John Laughhunn ’64, Cheryl (Paulsen ’68) Nielsen,
Alan Pedersen ’80, Maxine (Lubkeman ’68) Scott, Bob
Rademacher ’64 and Doug Renken ’66. Special thanks also
goes to spouses Sharon Appel, Darlene (Haecker ’67) Rademacher
and Audrey Jensen. President Trasy Sparr ’93 spoke on behalf
of the alumni at the Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Young
Alumni Luncheon and the Athletic Hall of Fame Induction.
Alumni involvement at the Hofbräuhaus event is another area
to celebrate. Former council member Nathan Krämer ’89
was the creative planner of the Hofbräuhaus event at the Old
Fire Hall in Blair, where 300 alumni ate a delicious meal and celebrated
Dana. The following alumni and friends were instrumental in putting
together the meal and hilarious program: Karla (Schutt ’81)
Schulze, Ellen Stokebrand ’83, Mark Juergens ’85, Jim
Olsen ’62, Jim Iversen ’55, Dale Larsen ’56, Dick
Jensen ’56, David Iversen ’86, Ernie “Greek”
Abariotes ’65, Herb Knudsen ’63, Jean (Wood ’76)
and Paul Hundtoft ’76, Liz (Miller ’82) and Paul Johnson
’76, Barb (Wolf ’73) Triplett, Dawn (Carper ’74)
and John Mark Nielsen ’73, Gene Lindblad, Myrvin Christopherson
’61, Duey Heffelfinger ’88, Michael Martin ’83,
Luci Lindahl ’83 and Richard Jorgensen ’64.
All of us involved in alumni affairs hope you will join us 2004
for Homecoming 2004, “New Trails to Blaze!”
