OPENING DINNER

The spirit was willing, but the box was stubborn at Dana’s Opening Dinner Aug. 20 in the Cooperman Atrium. The box was a time capsule closed into Borup Coliseum’s cornerstone during its contruction in the early 1960s. The cornerstone was removed to facilitate construction of the Gardner-Hawks Center and Cooperman Atrium earlier this year. It took a bit of trying, but Bob Schmoll ’83, executive vice president and chief financial officer (left), and Dr. Myrvin Christopherson ’61, president, opened the box revealing copies of Hermes, Blair Enterprise, a D-Club roster and other items. The memorabilia will be displayed in the Cooperman Atrium.
