CHORALE OPENS FOR KEILLOR
The Dana College Chorale, one of the region’s
most esteemed vocal groups, performed at a very special event in
Omaha on Oct. 24.
The Chorale opened for National Public Radio staple
Garrison Keillor at the Omaha Civic Center. Keillor, best known
for his show “Prairie Home Companion,” did the performance
as a benefit for Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of Nebraska and Iowa.
The event was an exciting opportunity for the Chorale to expand
its fanbase in the area. The Chorale was the only group performing
to share the stage with Keillor, and he complimented them on their
outstanding performance.
The Dana College Chorale sang from the following repertoire:
“Three Hymns,” arranged by Chorale Director Richard
Palmer; “Ride the Chariot,” arranged by Andre Thomas;
“Joy is on the Way,” by Joy K. Westmoreland; “Jericho,”
arranged by Michael Dryver; “God be in My Head,” by
Palmer; and “Chindia” by Alexandru Pascanu.
