PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH BEGINS

Dennis Gethmann ’71, vice chairman of the Dana Board of Regents, has been named Chairman of the Presidential Search Committee that is charged with conducting the search for a successor to President Myrvin Christopherson ’61, who will retire after 19 years in office on July 1, 2005. (Please see “Dr. Christopherson to Retire.” ) Members of the committee, in addition to Gethmann, are Regents Richard Vierk ’75, Mary (Heistand ’80) Bro, Don Jorgensen ’60, and Bob Coffey ’68. Members from the Dana community include Dr. John Lyden, professor of religion and Faculty Senate chairman, Professor Jan Potter, professor of social work and sociology, Wendy Grasz, Staff Council president, Tim Marsden ’97, Alumni Council president, and Matt Bloomingdale ’05, Student Senate president.  

Gethmann invites suggestions for the committee regarding the top priorities for the new president and qualifications and characteristics desired in a new president.
