BAND PERFORMS AT JOSLYN MUSEUM
The Dana Concert Band, under the direction of Assistant Professor
William Hall, gave a special concert April 13 in the Witherspoon
Concert Hall at the Joslyn Art Museum.
The performance featured the world premiere of Hall’s critical/performing
edition of Franz Krommer’s “Parthia for Band.”
The piece, originally written in 1825 and never before published,
was completed as part of Hall’s doctoral dissertation. It
is a three-movement concert work written by one of the most important
composers of the time. Krommer was the last court chamber music
composer for the Austrian Empire and held great influence over his
peers.
