MORTONS
Nine students finish Dana's
most rigorous program
Commencement, Saturday, 10:30
a.m.
Harder classes, extra classes, independent study,
community service and a thesis or project presented to the public
are just some of the requirements nine graduates completed to earn
the title Morton Scholar at graduation. As part of Dana’s
honors program, these students put in hundreds of hours of work
to earn the title, named after Dr. Richard E. Morton, president
of Dana College and Trinity Seminary from 1944–1956.
These graduates made a large contribution to the academic
and service atmosphere at Dana. The goal of the Morton Scholar program
is to prepare students to be leaders in the world outside Dana as
well.
The 2003 Dana College Morton Scholars are Stephanie
Collins, Crystal Cordes, Jessica Donnell, Amber Lake, Jeffrey Mangus,
Amy Miller, Sara Smit, Erin Sorensen and Heather Wonders.
