TRACKSTERS EARN THREE ALL-AMERICAN HONORS

The Vikings took eight athletes to the NAIA Outdoor Championships May 22-24 in Olathe, Kan., and walked away with three All-Americans.

“I was pleased with the way are kids competed in Olathe,” said Dana College Head Track Coach Allen Friesen. “We faced some great competition. For us to get three All-Americans shows the kind of competitive sprit our kids have and shows that our program is moving in the right direction.”

The All-Americans included Allen Wagner ’03 in the marathon. Wagner placed sixth and ran a personal best of 2:33.58. Matt Maltby ’03 placed sixth in the shot with a throw of 51-06.25. Garry Clark ’04 placed sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.09.
