UELC TO HOLD 2004 REUNION

A United Evangelical Lutheran Church Reunion will be held June 11-13 at Dana. This event is the 19th such gathering of former UELC laity and clergy. In 2002, the group gathered at Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.

The program will center on the past and present of two former UELC missions: Santal Mission in India and Oaks Indian Mission (now Oaks Indian Center) in Oklahoma.

Dana Professor John Mark Nielsen ’73 and his wife, Dawn (Carper ’74) Nielsen will speak on the Danish Trading Colonies and their encounter with India when John Mark was a Senior Fulbright Lecturer in American Literature in 2000. Dr. Edward A. Hansen D ’39 T ’42 will share Santal Mission mementos from his travels and term on the mission’s board.

Former Oaks Indian Mission Board member Phil Larsen ’49 and current member Gene Meyer will present information on the Oklahoma mission.

Those arriving on Friday are invited to gather for coffee at 3 p.m. in The Forum of the Margre Henningson Durham Center. The Rev. Bonnie (Hagedorn ’70) Jensen will preach on Sunday and the Rev. Ried Neve D ’48 T ’51 will preside.

Registration materials for the reunion will be mailed in late February. If you do not receive the mailing or if you need other assistance, please contact the Dana Alumni Office.
