The DCC computer lab is an important resource for the Social Work
Department, as we use it extensively in our Research Methods and
Statistical Analysis
course. For several years this course has been one of the few that
is taught using a computer program to do the statistical analysis,
a great advantage when doing sophisticated calculations. Students
report that they enjoy this course!
The social work collection of periodicals in the library is outstanding.
Students have access to a large amount of cutting-edge information
for use in their classes and research. More than 70 social work related
periodicals cover a broad range of information, such as marriage
and family therapy, child welfare, group therapy, women's issues,
Native
American news, African American studies, gay and lesbian issues,
gerontology, social work in health fields, substance abuse, juvenile
delinquency,
probation and parole, social welfare policy, mental illness, and
research.
