Social work has been recognized as one of the professions that
is expected to grow in the next few years due to the increasing
number of social problems around the world and the demand for
skilled counselors.
Social work majors learn not only the dynamics of human behavior, but also
skills and strategies for promoting change. Students especially love the three
practice classes and the practicums where they gain hands-on professional experience
during their junior and senior years.
Dana College’s social work program is highly acclaimed in the region.
Most graduate schools give Dana social work graduates advanced standing, helping
them complete their master’s in social work in just over one year instead
of two.
The program has been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
since 1986. This accreditation means that our graduates are qualified to become
certified social workers in Nebraska.
