The 2005 Dana College Softball squad achieved a team grade point
average of 3.56, the fourth highest in the NAIA, according to results
compiled by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
“This honor is not only a reflection of the softball program, but also a
reflection of Dana's faculty and staff,” said Head Softball Coach Marcy
Roff.
“Academics must come first. I expect the girls to work as hard in the
classroom as they do on the field. Athletics complements academics by
teaching work ethic. A student's work ethic carries over into every
aspect of life,” Roff said.
“I am very proud of our team. This award reflects the girls' hard work
and shows that they are achieving their goals both in the classroom and
on the field,” Roff said.
