Dana Softball wins Three in Hastings Tourney

March 9-10, 2007, Hastings, NE—The Dana softball team went 3-2 over the weekend at the Hastings tourney. 

The Vikings lost to Bethany College 10-2 in their first contest.  Janez Anderson (SR, Albion, NE) was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s for the Vikings.

Game two saw the Vikings defeat the College of St. Mary 7-6 in 9 innings.  Winning pitcher Josie Barrow (JR, Woodward, IA) also contributed at the plate going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

In Dana’s final Friday game, they defeated Black Hills State 16-3 pounding out 16 runs on 15 hits.  Lindy Bohlman (SO, Denison, IA) was 3 for 3 at the plate including two home runs.  Mindy Schoop (SO, Johnston, IA) was the winning pitcher in the contest.

On Saturday, the Vikings split a pair of games first losing to Midland 1-0 in seven innings and then punishing Doane 14-2.  The Vikings were only able to manage three hits in game one, but bounced back for 13 hits against the Tigers in the second game.
