Cox to become a viking

Blair, Nebraska ~ The Dana College Softball team announced Wednesday the signing of Kristina Cox of Des Moines, Iowa.  Cox is a senior infielder at Des Moines Roosevelt High School and for the I-Club softball team.

“Kristina is a very good player with a lot of potential to keep growing as an athlete and student,” commented Coach Marcy Roff.  “She has a great personality and will definitely fit in well with the Dana softball family.  We feel she will compete for an infield spot and really push our current players to keep improving.  Dana is a great fit for Kristina and we are very much looking forward to having her on our team in the fall of 2007!”

The Vikings are currently 15-12 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.  Last season, the Vikings finished 43-10 overall and 20-2 in the GPAC.  Dana won the regular and past season titles.  Coach Roff advanced to the regional tournament before bowing out to Valley City State.  Roff is entering her fourth season at the helm of the Viking ship.
