Dokmonovich to become a Viking

Blair, Nebraska ~ The Dana College Softball team announced Thursday the signing of Shaelyn Dokmonovich of Omaha, Nebraska.  Dokmonovich is a senior utility player at Omaha North High School.

“ Shaelyn is a very well-rounded softball player as she has played all 9 positions on the field during her career,” commented Head Softball Coach Marcy Roff.  “The coaching staff is excited to have Shaelyn in the fall because she is a fun player to be around and can be a huge asset in all aspects of the softball program!”

Coach Roff expects Dokmonoich to play as a middle infielder or outfielder next season.  “We know that we can put her wherever we need to and she will already have the knowledge and ball sense to play that position,” added Roff.

Last season, the Vikings finished 43-10 overall and 20-2 in the GPAC.  Dana won the regular and past season titles.  Coach Roff advanced her team to the regional tournament before bowing out to Valley City State.  Roff is entering her fourth season at the helm of the Viking ship.
