Welcome to the Department of Student Activities!

The Student Activities Office is the hub of student activity on the Dana College campus. The purpose the Student Activities Office is to aid in the development of student talents through co-curricular activities that supplement what Dana students learn in the classroom. As Coordinator of Student Activities, I have the privilege of dispersing services and support to individual students and student organizations at Dana as they plan programs and events. Together with the department’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) and many student organizations, we are able to plan and implement programs throughout the academic year to benefit the entire Dana Community.

Student Activities is responsible for several key “Big Weeks” in addition to various other events and activities. These weeks are New Student Orientation/Welcome Week, Parent’s Day, Homecoming, Winter Fest, and Spring Fling. Activities in addition to these weeks (to name just a few) include tie-dying, Monday Night Football parties, free movie nights at local theatres, bowling, hired events such as hypnotists, comedians, and novelty events such as drive-in movies, laser tag, wax hands, and make your own music video events. Also coordinated out of the Student Activity office are Dana’s “Battle of the Buildings” activities where each residence hall plans and provides an event for the entire campus. Please check out the pictures to see what fun our students have!

Another important part of the Student Activities Office is supporting the student-led organizations on campus. This support comes through leadership workshops and training, Budget Days and assisting with planning and evaluating events. The Student Activities Office also coordinates the “Dana’s Leading Organizations” program which encourages and enables organizations and their leaders to go above and beyond their expectations and goals set at the beginning of the year.

Want to get involved or make a suggestion about an activity you’d like to participate in? Please do not hesitate to stop by the Student Activities Office located in the Campus Center, or contact me by the information below.

Hope to see you soon!
