The college has Windows and Macintosh computers available for student use throughout the campus. These computers have access to a full range of software, including programs for word processing, data management, design, Internet, and learning skills. Most buildings on campus house at least one lab containing computers and printers. A laser printer is accessible via the network for final copies of documents requiring high quality printing.

Durham Center Lab
The computer lab (DC 221-223) has 24 Windows computers, a scanner, a color printer, dot-matrix printers, and a network laser printer that are available from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. seven days a week. A member of the Computer Services staff is available to assist students in the lab six days a week.

Madsen Fine Arts Center Lab
A Macintosh lab is located in the MFAC, Room 223. This lab is equipped with 11 computers, a LaserJet printer, and a scanner. Access to this lab is permitted whenever the building is unlocked and class is not being held. Due to the technical nature of these computers, students must obtain faculty or staff approval prior to use.

Education Dept. Lab
The Education lab is on the third floor of the DC. These computers are used primarily by the Teacher Education Department, with hours posted in each location. Questions regarding the use of these labs should be directed to Kim Berg, ext. 7280.

Labs around campus
Smaller computer labs can be found in the Dana-LIFE Library, the Learning Center, and the Dana Hall of Science. Hours of availability for these computers are posted in each area.

Each of the residence halls has a computer lab with four Windows machines and a dot-matrix printer providing students 24-hour computer access. All residence halls have wireless Internet access. Mickelsen and Holling halls are hard wired for direct Internet access using a standard Ethernet network card.

Network accounts are available to all students registered for credit for at least one class. These accounts provide access to all the software on Dana’s network, including e-mail and the Internet. Network/email accounts are terminated when students are no longer registered for credit classes.

Questions about network accounts, computer equipment, supplies, or operation should be directed to the Computer Services staff.
Dana’s Acceptable Use Policy governing the use of Dana’s network and equipment can be found on the Dana website (http://www.dana.edu/compserv/policy.htm).
