Restricted Parking Areas | Traffic Regulations | Fines/Penalties | Appealing a Parking or Traffic Violation

Driving and parking a car on campus is a privilege, not a right. Students who have vehicles are expected to know and follow the college’s rules and regulations regarding driving and parking.

Vehicle Registration: All vehicles parked on campus must be registered with the Communications/Information Center and properly display a valid parking permit. Enrolled students can obtain a permit from the Information Center.

Visitor Registration: Any student hosting a visitor/guest on campus overnight must obtain a temporary permit from the Information Center.
There is no charge for these permits. Students are also personally responsible for their guest’s behavior, including violations of college parking or traffic regulations.

Disabled Vehicles: Students with a disabled vehicle should contact the Communication/Information Center or Campus Security (533-3343) immediately. Failure to report a disabled vehicle is not an acceptable excuse or grounds for appealing a citation.

Snow Removal: There are regular occasions each winter when it is necessary for Maintenance to have free and clear access to Dana Drive to remove snow. The time restrictions regarding parking on Dana Drive (see information of Restricted Parking Areas) are intended to create a period when no cars are to be parked on the drive. Anytime a vehicle violates these restrictions and snow removal is necessary, it will be towed at the owner’s expense. No exceptions!

Appealing a Parking or Traffic Violation
Students wishing to appeal a parking or traffic ticket must contact the person who issued the ticket within 48 hours of receiving the citation. If a meeting with this individual does not prove satisfactory, the student can appeal to the Parking and Traffic Appeal Board.
