Dana Track Athletes Compete at Concordia

 

April 14, 2007—Dana men and women track athletes competed in Seward, Nebraska, on Saturday at the Concordia Invitational.  Roger Goff (SO, Missouri Valley, IA) had the top performance of the day for the Vikings finishing second in the javelin with a toss of 166’1”.  Goff also finished seventh in the shot put.  On the track Eric Bane (JR, Oakland, IA) finished third in the men’s 5000 meter run and John Kaup (SR, Grand Island, NE) place eighth in the 10000 meters. 

            In the sprints, freshman Andrew Hawley (Lincoln, NE) finished sixth in the 200 meters running a time of 22.69.  Robert Fowler (JR, Bellevue, NE) placed seventh in the 100 meters with a time of 11.13 and tenth in the 200 meters.

            The top women’s performance by a Viking was junior Jennifer Anderson’s (Lincoln, NE) fourth place finish in the 5000 meters with a time of 20:23:37.  In the field events, Santana Hildebrand (SO, West Des Moines, IA) placed seventh in the discus and tenth in the hammer throw.

            Dana athletes will next be in action on April 21 in Crete, Nebraska, at the Doane Relays.
