It is tough to get good marks or good times when the wind the past two weeks has been 20+ mph, but the kids continue to work hard and are still performing well. Terrance Almond and Cory Logsdon led the for the Viking men this week. Almond placed third in both Triple Jump and the Long Jump, while Logsdon placed third in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. On the Women’s side, Megan Higgins placed fourth in the Discus with a personal best of 126-00 feet.

There were several athletes that set personal bests’ at Concordia.  Leanna Kalvaledge in the javelin, Adam Lewon in the discus, Andrew Palmblade and Kevin Bane in the 1500 meter, Phillip Lewis in the 110 meter hurdles, Chase Trecek in the shot put, and  Dan Staehlin, Chris Creal, and Mason Lantz  in the 1500 meter.

Next week promises to be a great weekend for track meet so I am hopeful we will get marks that will correspond to the weather.

Dana will travel to the Doane Relays in Crete, Nebraska on April 18 and 19.  The GPAC Conference meet will be held in Sioux City, Iowa on May 3.
