Kevin Bane Finishes Second in Half Marathon 

Blair, Nebraska ~ Dana College and Blair were host to the annual Dana Half Marathon.  Kevin Bane (SO, Oakland, IA) placed second in the meet with a time of 1:15.35 minutes.  He was just .02 seconds behind the winner Paul Wilson.  Bane’s time provisionally qualified him for the NAIA National Marathon this May in St. Louis, Missouri.  Automatic Qualifying for the NAIA National Meet is 1:15.0 and Provisional is 1:17.40 for the 13.1 mile race. 

Bane is the second provisional qualifier from the Viking Distance team.  Cory Logsdon (SO, Ft. Calhoun, NE) and Eric Bane (SR, Oakland, IA) qualified automatically for the National Marathon.  Mason Lantz has qualified provisionally for the National meet.

The Vikings will travel to Indianola, Iowa to take part in the Kip Javrin Open hosted by Simpson College.  The GPAC track meet is May 3 in Sioux City, Iowa.
