The Dana College Volleyball team was defeated
by the #15 ranked College of St. Mary 3-0 in Omaha on Wednesday night
losing 30-21, 30-22, and 30-22. The Vikings record fell to
1-1.
Key offensive contributors for the Vikings included
senior Darcy Gross (Earling, IA) who had four ace serves and seven
kills, freshman Kali Brayfield (Elkhorn, NE) who posted six kills,
and junior Holly Lehmer (Omaha, NE) who led the Vikings with 18 assists.
Defensively, the Vikings were led by junior Amy
Parnell (Clay Center, NE) and senior Shanan Arnold (Leavenworth,
KS) who had 11 and 10 digs respectively.
Said Vikings Coach Rayna Cain, “We had a
couple of breakdowns here and there but overall played a very competitive
match.”
The Vikings next action will be on September 6
in Blair vs. Briar Cliff at 7:30 PM.
