Dana Head Volleyball Coach Rayna Cain picked up her
first collegiate victory on Tuesday night with a seasoning opening
30-12, 32-30, 33-31 win at Grace College. “It was a good start to the
season,” said Coach Cain after the win. “We blocked and passed the ball
well and overcame a few mental breakdowns throughout the match. It was
a good test to prepare us for the rest of the season.”
Offensively, Dana was led by senior Darcy
Gross who had 11 kills and 4 ace serves. Junior Holly Lehmer also added
32 set assists to lead the Vikings.
Defensively, senior Shanan Arnold played well
leading the Vikings with 27 digs. Dana was led in blocks by freshman
Kali Brayfield who totaled 11 and sophomore Samantha Triplett who had 8.
Dana’s season continues on Wednesday night at the
College of St. Mary in Omaha at 7:00 PM.
