The
Dana Viking Volleyball team struggled over the weekend losing three
games. Friday night, the Vikings were defeated at home by Dordt
30-21, 30-18, 30-14. Sunday the Vikings lost a pair of games
in Rapid City, South Dakota, losing first to South Dakota Tech 30-27,
30-26, 30-15 and then falling to Black Hills State 30-20, 30-21,
30-13. The losses drop the Viking record to 5-12 (1-4 in the
GPAC).
Darcy
Gross (SR, Earling, IA) recorded game highs for the Vikings of 8,
10, and 11 kills in the three matches. Against Dordt, Holly
Lehmer (JR, Omaha, NE) had 23 set assists. Versus South Dakota
Tech and Black Hills State, Nicole Venditte (FR, Omaha, NE) led the
Vikings in assists with 29 and 28. Lehmer missed both games
with an illness. Sarah Reddy (FR, Lincoln, NE) had 8 kills
and 2 blocks against South Dakota Tech.
The
Vikings will next be in action on Wednesday, October 4, in Sioux
City at Briar Cliff (15-4, 6-0) at 7:30 PM.
