Vikings Sign Eight Volleyball Recruits

Blair, Nebraska ~ The Dana College volleyball team announced the signing of eight players of national letters intent on Friday.  Joining the Vikings for the 2008-2009 season are Kayla Caddell (Woodbine, IA), Belinda Wolverton (Pilger, NE), Becca Peterman (Lytton, IA), Courtney Aspegren (Wilcox, NE), Morgan Knuppel (Bancroft, NE), Kaitlea Corken (Rock Port, MO), Kate Elson (North Platte, NE), and Lexie Myers (Papillion, NE).

“These quality student athletes will help to make our team more competitive next year,” commented Head Coach Rayna Cain.  “As each of these athletes grows, becomes stronger, and adapts to the pace of the collegiate game, their contributions on the court will be exciting to watch.”

Last season, Dana College finished 8-23 overall and 1-14 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. It was the second year at the helm of the Viking program for Coach Cain.

Dana College is a private, Lutheran college located in Blair, Nebraska.  The Vikings are members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference and the NAIA.  Dana College is a place where all students actively participate.
