Volleyball Places Two on All-Conference Team

 

The Great Plains Athletic Conference released its 2007 All-Conference team on Wednesday afternoon.  Two Dana College volleyball players earned spots on the teams.  Outside hitter Lacie Greiner (SO, Boone, Iowa) was named to the second team.  Teammate Kali Brayfield (SO, Elkhorn, Neb.) made the Honorable Mention list.

 

Greiner led the Vikings with 977 attack attempts and was second on the team with 267 kills.  She also had a team-high 52 service aces.  Brayfield was the leading hitter on the Viking squad with 320 kills.  She also led the Vikings with 28 solo blocks and 95 block assists.

Vikings Fall in Final

 

The Dana College volleyball team dropped its final match of the season to Doane College on Tuesday night.  The Vikings fell in straight sets 30-22, 30-17, and 30-26.

 

Kali Brayfield (SO, Elkhorn, Neb.) led the Vikings with 12 kills.  April Fitch (FR, Creighton, Neb.) added nine kills.  Lacie Greiner (SO, Boone, Iowa) and Danielle Neville (FR, Yutan, Neb.) added six and five kills respectively.  Nichole Elwood (SO, Fremont, Neb.) dished out 28 set assists.  Greiner led the Vikings with 13 defensive digs.  Kira Presler (SR, Omaha, Neb.) and Neville added ten digs apiece.  Presler also had two solo blocks and one block assist.

 

Dana finishes its season with an 8-24 record and 1-15 Great Plains Athletic Conference record.  Dana is coached by Rayna Cain, who is in her second season.
