Elson to Become a Viking

 

Blair, Nebraska ~ The Dana College Volleyball team announced the signing of Kate Elson of North Platte, Nebraska to a national letter of intent.  Elson is a setter from North Platte High School.  She is the daughter of Rich and Lauri Elson of North Platte and plans to major in Education during her athletic and academic career.

 

“I am excited to play for Coach Cain and to be part of the volleyball program at Dana,” said Elson on her choice of Dana College.  “I look forward to using the setting skills I have developed at Front Range Volleyball club (Denver) over the past 2 ½ years.”

 

Elson has earned varsity letters in volleyball, band, and track in her career at North Platte High.  She has also been named to the conference academic team in volleyball.

 

“Kate is a great addition to the team and will give us depth in the setting position,” said Coach Rayna Cain.  “She has outstanding footwork and soft hands to run a quick offense. Kate is an extremely competitive and determined student athlete that will thrive at Dana College.”

 

Last season, Dana College finished 8-23 overall and 1-14 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. It was the second year at the helm of the Viking program for Coach Cain.

 

Dana College is a private, Lutheran college located in Blair, Nebraska.  The Vikings are members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference and the NAIA.  Dana College is a place where all students actively participate.
