A Pilgrimage Through the Land of Martin Luther

Celebrating the 125th Anniversary of Dana College

September 16-26, 2008
with Rev. Dean Bard, former Director of the ELCA Wittenberg Center, e.V.

A program of Christian Tours Europe sponsored by the ELCA Wittenberg Center

This exciting pilgrimage provides an opportunity to explore the 16th century Reformation led by Dr. Martin Luther and other developments in Germany during the past 500 years that shaped our world today. modern church life, including our commitments to higher education and social ministry, is grounded in this history. Our travels coincide with the opening of the Reformation Decade in Wittenberg, marking the ten years between his arrival in 1508, and his posting of the 95 Theses in 1517. Two tours are combined to lower costs, one sponsored by Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, Omaha, the other by Dana College, Blair, NE, each celebrating significant anniversaries of their own. Join us for this exciting adventure!

Dean Bard
Former Director of the ELCA Wittenberg Center

The ELCA Wittenberg Center e.V. is delighted to invite your participation in this anniversary travel seminar. The Center is a ministry of ELCA Global Mission and is an ELCA Life-long Learning Partner. The Wittenberg Center’s ministry is about making connections: connecting people of faith from the ELCA with their international sisters and brothers; connecting today’s faith questions with the roots of our Reformation heritage. The ELCA Wittenberg Center e.V. offers programs of learning and enrichment for Christians from the U.S. and throughout the world. Events sponsored by the Center offer you the opportunity to:

• Visit sites significant to the Reformation, world history and contemporary life;

• Hear presentations about the Reformers and events that shaped the living Lutheran tradition from respected scholars, teachers, and others in church professions

• Experience the history, art, music and culture of the Reformation and contemporary church;

• Meet leaders in church and society dealing with the residual impact of 40 years of German Democratic Republic rule.

We are thrilled that we will have representation from the ELCA who will join Bishop Mark Hanson on the opening weekend of the Reformation Decade that will encourage so many others to make a pilgrimage to Luther Land.
