GENANT to
attend dana college

Blair, Nebraska ~ The Dana College Women’s Basketball team announced
the signing of Raychel Genant of Springfield, South Dakota to a national
letter of intent. Genant is a guard from Bon Homme High School. She
is the daughter of Jody and Jenny Genant and the sister of Zach Genant,
a member of the Viking Men’s Basketball team. Raychel plans
to major in business during her athletic and academic career at Dana
College. |
“I liked the size of the college and what they had
to offer,” commented Genant. “I look forward the team I will be playing
on and the people I will be playing with. I am excited abut the
experience I will get.”
Genant was a three time All-Conference player in
South Dakota. She averaged 10 points per game and five rebounds. She
also participated in volleyball and track.
“We are thrilled Raychel has chosen to become part
of the Dana Basketball family,” commented Head Basketball Coach Brenda
Mechels. “She has played a vital role in the success Bon Homme High
School has seen this past year, and she has the potential to become a
quality collegiate player. Raychel is not only a great student, but a
quality individual. We look forward to the contributions she will make
on campus both on and off the court.”
The Vikings finished the season 9-22 on the
season. Coach Mechels is in her sixth year at the helm of the women’s
basketball program.
Dana College is a private, Lutheran college located
in Blair, Nebraska. They participate in the Great Plains Athletic
Conference and a member of the NAIA. Dana College is a place where all
students actively participate.
