Dana Falls at Nebraska Wesleyan

Lack of rebounding proved costly on Wednesday night in Lincoln as Dana fell at Nebraska Wesleyan 56-54.  The Prairie Wolves took advantage of 42-34 rebound margin and converted them into a 57 percent shooting percentage in the second half.

Dana took a 12 point lead into halftime, but a 21-10 Wesleyan run to start the second half proved too much for the Vikings to overcome.  The Vikings were able to tie the game up at 54-54 on an Amanda Bryant (JR, Treynor, IA) lay-up.

Dana looked to the lead with 53 seconds to play, but a costly turn over gave NWU the advantage.  The Vikings were forced to foul and put the Prairie Wolves on the line with 24 seconds left.  Nebraska Wesleyan hit both shots.  Megan Finn (FR, Omaha, NE) had a chance to tie the game with two seconds left, but had her shot blocked by a Prairie Wolf defender.

Amanda Bryant led the Vikings with 16 points and had six rebounds.  Amy Nichol (SR, Des Moines, IA) pulled down a game high 11 rebounds and six steals to go along with nine points.  Tricia Trotter (SO, Treynor, IA) added nine points and dished out a game high six assists.

The Vikings drop to 0-2 in GPAC action and 4-5 overall.  Dana will be on the road this weekend as they travel to Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa.  Tip off is scheduled for 4:00pm local time.  The Vikings will return home on December 5 to face off preseason number three Hastings College at 6:00pm.
