TIGHE to attend dana college

Blair, Nebraska ~ The Dana College Women’s Basketball team announced the signing of Bridget Tighe of Homer, Nebraska to national letter of intent.  Tighe is a guard and from Homer High School.  She is the daughter of Paul and Lisa Tighe and plans to major in Music Education while at Dana College.   “Dana allowed me to be involved in both basketball and music,” commented Tighe.  “I wanted to continue playing basketball and the size of Dana allowed me to do both.”

Tighe earned All-Conference honors the past three seasons at Homer High.  She also participated in volleyball, track, jazz band, band, and chorus in high school.

“We are extremely excited Bridget has chosen to join the Dana basketball family,” commented Coach Brenda Mechels.  “Her athleticism and knowledge of the game will be an asset to our program.  We look forward to the contributions Bridget will make not only to our program, but also the Dana community.”

The Vikings finished the season 9-22 on the season.  Coach Mechels is in her sixth year at the helm of the women’s basketball program.

Dana College is a private, Lutheran college located in Blair, Nebraska.  They participate in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and a member of the NAIA.  Dana College is a place where all students actively participate.
