Vikings Announce Wrestling
Recruits
Blair,
Nebraska ~
Dana College wrestling coach Beau Vest has
announced the names of nine additions that will join the Vikings next
season. The class is
highlighted by six former high school state qualifiers and four local
recruits.
Derek Rowe, a 149
pounder from Syracuse, Neb.
Rowe wrestled at Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca High school in Syracuse,
Nebraska. He picked up his
100th career victory as well as a State Runner up in class B
during his senior year.
Derek will join older brother Dan with the Vikings next season.
Duane Feddern, a
285 pounder from Norfolk, Neb.
Feddern joins the Vikings after a runner-up State finish for
Lutheran High Northeast in Norfolk, Nebraska.
He was a two-time state placer and finished his senior year with
a 38-2 record.
Barry McEwin, a 141
pounder from Omaha, Neb.
McEwin was a three-time state placer in Class A for Omaha North High
School.
Stephon Smiley, a
149 pounder from Omaha, Neb.
Mikey Keating, a
174 pounder from Ponca City, OK.
Keating is a two-time state placer from Oklahoma wrestling
powerhouse Ponca City. He
brought home third place finishes in 2006 and 2008.
Cameron Adcox, a
285 pounder from Tonganoxie, Kan.
Adcox was a regional runner-up and placed sixth in Class 4A for
Tonganoxie High School
Archie Lowe, a 133
pounder from Ponca City, OK.
Lowe joins teammate Mikey Keating on the Viking roster.
Lowe was a top eight finisher in the Oklahoma Class 5A tournament
as a senior.
Jason Rodriguez, a
123 or 133 pounder from San Antonio, TX.
Rodriguez wrestled at Ronald Reagan High School, as well as
internationally while his family traveled with the military.
Tyarian Martin, a
125 pounder from Waterloo, Iowa.
Martin wrestled for Class 4A powerhouse Waterloo East.
Dana College placed fifth in last year’s team
standings and was the Great Plains Athletic Conference champions.
Coach Beau Vest is entering his second year at the helm of the
Viking wrestling program.
Dana College is a private, Lutheran college located in Blair, Nebraska.
They participate in the Great Plaines Athletic Conference and a member
of the NAIA. Dana College is a place where all students actively
participate.
